Pediatrics
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. A medical practitioner who specializes in this area is known as a pediatrician. The words pediatrics or pediatrician mean healer of children; they derive from two Greek words: παῖς (pais = child) and ἰατρός (iatros = doctor or healer).
Coastal Medical has four pediatric practices located from East Providence to Narragansett and in-between. When a parent selects a Coastal Medical pediatrician for their family, he or she gains access to a Patient Centered Medical Home with cutting edge medical knowledge. Our practices are now paperless and utilize an electronic medical record to provide improvements in quality and access to care to your family.
We offer our patients a Pediatric Patient Portal that provides up-to-date access to personal health information, lab results, appointment reminders and the ability to contact our offices via email.
After seeing the pediatrician for a complete evaluation, any necessary testing your child needs can be provided at one of our on-site Coastal laboratories, or referral can be made to our Imaging center.
